With this online tool, you can test how complex is your text. The tool offers three complexity measuring modes. In this example, we generate a text fragment of length 10 that has no inherent complexity. This fragment has just a single letter "i" that is repeated 10 times. Because this text is very easy to guess, its complexity score is zero.
This example measures the complexity of the top 10 best-selling books of all time. Each title is entered on a new line in the title case format. After checking the results, we find that the most complex book title is "A Short History of Nearly Everything" with a score of 4.06 and the least complex book title is "Twilight" with a score of 2.75.
In this example, we load three paragraphs of the definition of the Universe. We want to see how the text complexity changes if the same definition is written in three different computer fonts. The first font is the regular ASCII font, the second font is the Bold Fraktur font, and the third font is the Bold font. It turns out the complexity doesn't change because each paragraph contains exactly the same information, and the complexity of the text only depends on information density and not on its visual style or font.
