With this online tool, you can swap words in the given text. The program breaks the text into groups of words of the specified size and then reverses the word order in each group. For example, if you set the group size to 2, then the input text "Moon glows, stars twinkle." will become the text "glows Moon, twinkle stars.". If the input text consists of multiple sentences, then you can group words within each separate sentence or ignore sentence boundaries and group (and swap) all words as a single text stream. For example, if the option "Stop at Sentence End" is not active, and the group size is 3 words, then the text "The sun sets slowly down. Darkness falls." will turn into a sequence of groups "[The sun sets] [slowly down. Darkness] [falls.]" and after swapping words, the text will become "sets sun The Darkness down. slowly falls.". If this option is active, then it will turn into the following sequence of groups: "[The sun sets] [slowly down]. [Darkness falls.]" and the text will become "sets sun The slowly down. Darkness falls.". If the sentence is short of a word or two and doesn't form a complete group, then you can decide whether to rearrange the words in the last incomplete group or not. You can use the "Swap Non-full Groups" option for this. For example, if your text is "The truth sets you free." and the group size is 3, then with this option on, the text will become "sets truth The free you." but if the option is off, then it will become "sets truth The you free." In this example, we swap the words in pairs. Since the text consists of six words, we can form exactly three pairs of words. Once the pairs are formed, we move the first word to the second position and the second word to the first position in every pair. Additionally, we keep the capitalization of the first letter of the very first word at the beginning of the sentence.
This example reverses the word order of every three words within each sentence individually. As it uses the "Stop at Sentence End" option, the word groups are created only from triplets of words in the same sentence. Thus, in the first sentence, two complete groups and one incomplete group are formed (the incomplete group is not swapped). In the second sentence, also two complete groups and one incomplete group are formed. And in the third sentence (author's name) there's just a single incomplete group, which also does not change.
In this example, we swap both the complete groups and also incomplete ones. In the given sentence, the first three words form a full word triplet-group and the remaining two words form an incomplete group. However, as the option "Swap Non-full groups" is activated, the fullness property of groups is ignored and all words in all groups are reversed. Additionally, the option "Preserve Sensitive Case" is activated and we maintain the sentence case.
