With this tool, you can convert all words in the given text into nice columns. For the input, you can adjust the character that separates words (a space by default) and you the character that separates text lines (a newline). For the output, you can set the column separator character (a space by default) and the character that separates rows (a newline). When the output is produced, you can choose to left-align it, right-align it, or center it. Two additional options for output column separators allow you to align the separator symbol strictly below each other on each line, forming strict column boundaries, and allow you to insert a separator where the elements are missing. In this example, we format data about various movies into left-aligned columns. The input data is separated by commas but output data is neatly aligned in even columns. To do this formatting, we split the input text by a comma, then place the necessary amount of spaces between elements until they align in columns. As a result, we get three clearly formed columns with film names, genres, and release dates.
This example creates columns using the vertical bar symbol as a column separator. The original text about animal life expectancy is separated by spaces but after converting it to columns it's separated by pipes. This example also centers the text in each column.
In this example, we convert a quote by Albert Einstein into separate words and separate words by asterisk symbols. We use the comma character as the row separator symbol and we align all words to the right side.
