With this tool, you can filter text lines. You can do three different ways of filtering. The first way allows you to find and print all text lines that contain the given search pattern. This pattern can be any subtext of the original text, which may consist of one or more characters, numbers, words, or phrases. The second way finds lines that are made up of the specified symbols. In the option, you can list all characters, digits, and punctuation marks, and in the output, you'll get only those lines that are formed from these symbols. The third way to filter is to use a regular expression. For example, the regex "^A" will extract all lines that start with the letter "A". The regular expression "^.{20}$" will print all lines that are exactly 20 characters long. Additionally, you can select the reverse mode to display all lines that were not matched. And if necessary, you can use the option "Remove Duplicate Lines", which removes all identical lines from the text and display only the unique matches. Textabulous!

In this example, we filter text using a text template. This example loads a bunch of facts about fruit and only returns those text lines that have words containing "pple" in them. These words are "Apple" and "apple".
This example finds and displays a list of valid email addresses using a regular expression filter. This regular expression says – find a word followed by the "at" symbol, followed by a word, followed by a dot, followed by another word. It's the simplest regexp to match an email.
In this example, we demonstrate the reverse filter mode. This mode returns all lines from the given text that do not contain the given text pattern. We load a set of data that describes the area and population in all seven continents, then we enable the reverse-filter mode and set the match pattern to the word "population". As a result we get back all the data excluding population count.
In this example, we load a list of wild animals to find those whose animal names that are made from the first half of the alphabet letters. We switch to the "Use a Character Set" filtering mode and enter the first 13 letters of the English alphabet (a-m) into the options field. As a result, we find the names of three animals: "jackal", "eagle", and "elk" as they are composed of the specified letters of the alphabet.
In this example, we apply a multi-word filter to the text about travels. We use two keywords as the search patterns and extract all text lines that have the word "new" as well as lines that have the word "world". We also enable the "Remove Duplicate Lines" option to make sure we get only the unique lines in the output.
You can pass input to this tool via ?input query argument and it will automatically compute output. Here's how to type it in your browser's address bar. Click to try!
